Mattress Pads

This website gives you tips on finding the best deals on mattress pads.

Welcome to our website. Here you will be able to find suppliers of several types of mattress pads in the colors, sizes, and designs you need to make your bedroom complete. With a wide variety of choices and manufacturers, you can be sure you will find the matterss pads that suit your tastes and budget.

A mattress pad is basically a protective covering that fits over the top of your mattress. They are washable, and usually quilted and fitted, quote often with elastic corners that make it hug the mattress firmly so it stays put when you are sleeping.

Mattress pads are available in many different varities. They come with or without padding, and also in a variety of fabrics. You must purchase the correct size of pad or it won't fit your mattress correctly as well.

The fit of your mattress pad is important. So when you get a new one, keep in mind that it might fit your mattress loosely, but when washed it will usually shrink a bit to the perfect size (simalar to most clothing).

The quality level of this item is distenguished by several factors. It's fabric content and fill content, the stitching, and the elastic type. When you're shopping for mattress pads, a high thread count can be an indication of higher quality, but not in every case. Also, you may want to avoid items with filling that has man-made material like polyester, because it is less breathable and less comfortable to sleep on. Natural material filling like down or cotton is almost always more breathable and more comfortable than the alternitive.

The stitching and elastic type is another way to tell if a particular pad is of high quality. The purpose of the stitching is to keep the filling in place during use and laundering. If the stitching lines are far apart, it won't be as effective at holding the filling in place. Because if this factor, you should look for items with stitching lines that are closer together.

The elastic is usually a single line around the bottom edge of the fabric, or it could run in several parallel lines spaced about 3/4 of an inch or so apart down the side of the mattress pad. If it has more elastic lines, it will stay in place better. Multiple lines can be a better choice for most people because it will hold better. The truth is elastic sometimes fails, and if there is only one line, failure means you will probably need to buy a new mattress pad. If the item has several lines, the elastics will share the stretching "load" and, even if one or two fail, the others can still hold your mattress pad securely.

Padded covers for your bed can provide an extra layer of comfort, however the essential function of your cover or pad is to protect the bed from leaks, spills, sweat, dirt, etc. You can even get a mattress pad with a leak barrier for an added level of protection against stains on the mattress, and anti-bacterial fabrics are also available which reduce dust mites and common allergens.

While mattresses are very difficult to clean and very expensive to replace, mattress pads on the other hand are easy to clean and far less expensive than a mattress! When you considerthe fact that all that's between your body and the expensive mattress you own is a thin sheet, adding this extra layer is essential for obvious reasons.
